Time Commanders: The Battle of Bibracte Part 1. It uses an edited version of the game engine behind the real-time strategy game Rome: Total War by the Creative Assembly to recreate famous battles of the ancient world. The battles are replayed by 4-player teams from diverse backgrounds. The teams are unfamiliar with computer games, to make sure their gaming skills do not influence their success. After a brief introduction of the battle, including an overview of military units, terrain and available forces, the players have to develop a strategy and then deploy their forces. Two of the players are selected as generals, who will direct the battle and have access to a strategic map. The other two players are designated lieutenants, the units are indirectly controlled by the lieutenants, who issue commands to program assistants, who in turn use the game interface to control the units.

The battles are good. . . . These people are simply not let the soldiers, even generals. I’ff they chose to expirianced gamers like myself. Most of the fighting would not easily won duet facts we already know of these old quarrels.

Leuctra was a shame, but Gaugamela, and Cynoscephalae were quite good.

@ Teccomin There were some very good fights on this show-the first episode of the Battle of Trebia where players brilliantly massacred the computer, and the Battle of Leuctra was less effective, but still very good. But yes, too often the players are allowed to hold misconceptions that would really be more accurate to disabuse them of.

this show is all about teaching people how to fail, and a large part is due to players not given enough “training” and preparation. Its good if you hold a contest, but for a TV show, you need at least entertain the public with better battles.

I know the quality is crap, but when you look on the camcorder it seems, but I think it shows differently on the issue, etc.

Chieftain: Unknown? Was not the king appointed Gallic Divico? I may be wrong, the history of classical antiquity is not my strong point.

The only complaint is that I can not say the number of episodes, being new to the series, and love.
