This video series focuses on Grandmaster level chess tactics. This particular video features a very interesting and crushing tactical line by Paul Morphy in a match he played against Louis Paulsen in New York, 1857. The full match PGN is available on my chess blog which you can access from my main youtube channel page.

if you actually see, he never even had to use “discovered checks, he could make more of his dark squared bishop from the beginning. Same result 4 moves less.

@ MaliciamuzenzaAprès White Queen takes Black Queen and is pinned by the black tower, white queen do not turn black. White pawn moves one square to escape. If trades turn black queen when they lost both own a tower and a queen.

I see a companion much faster in this game, requiring only two birds at 2:31, black bishop goes to H3 and pensions white tower at D1. Next move should have been another black bishop has just crashed in to F1, which puts a drop of the coupling by moving the bishop H3 G2.

Queen sacrifice amazing:)

after it moves the bishop to h3 why the white player, just leave the Bishop eat the root 1f? I do not understand why this change players root? someone please explain.

I came with the idea of 1. . . Qxf1 2. Qxf1. . . Re1, but this is simply incredible!

Really nice bag queen, but why does the white bishop should take the pawn F3? It is always nice to get some material and have an open line for the Ravens, but instead of taking the pawn F3, F2 take the pawn with the bishop black. Accelerate a bit dull, or am I missing a move that could prevent this?

A bag queen amazing on the plate

1st glance I thought it had something to do with Qxf1, but I quickly realized that a single line can not stop the attack so I looked in Qxf3, I knew that everything was REL after Rg6 +.
March 10th, 2010 at 6:10 pm
Why not just QxR, qxq, RE1?
March 10th, 2010 at 6:30 pm
I thought that too, but if the queen does not turn and move a pawn forward to give his king a flight !!!!! do not forget if Rook takes king queen rook can take! cannot Rook and other coverage or attack the king is too close cuz !!!!!!!!!

Jrobi the beginning of the video is white not really looking for a trade to the Queen, although it does not bother me. But the main point of the move QA6 becomes Qf1 + (with a partner soon) on poste.Qu ‘does a nice line Morphy came with.

And the king to take the tour. Result, equal equipment.
March 10th, 2010 at 8:40 pm
then the tower takes over Queen
March 10th, 2010 at 8:48 pm
What if the Queen does not take the tour?

I saw the queen rook at the beginning and then when the white queen takes the black queen on black F8 would simply play re1 pinning the black queen and win for a ride. This line is obviously not as strong as the bag queen, but I find it intresting

blows

saw it =) great movement

I could be wrong but I think there is a much simpler chackmate in this game: Qd3 will f1 chacking King. Queens recaptureand that white tower that carries the f1-Pinniger Queen. that the Queen and the Tower rook you make others capture the queen and chackmate. This can occur if both the White decides to take first with the King. (Although I missed something Mishti)

What do you mean by “online”?
March 11th, 2010 at 1:32 am
This attack was brutal.

Similar moves made by Morphy is impossible due to the Queen on the D3, it will take the bishop on h6 now! 1. . . Qxf3 2. gxf3 Rg6 + 3. Kh1 Bh3 4. Qd3 f5 5. RD1 Bg2 + 6. Kg1 Bxf3 + 7. KF1BG2 + 8. Kg1 Bh6 9. Qxh6!
March 11th, 2010 at 2:32 am
it seems that by virtue of playing the perfect computer. Morphy can not finish the game in another 40 moves or more. 1. . . Qxf3 2. gxf3 Rg6 + 3. Kh1 Bh3 4. Qd3 f5 5. RD1 Bg2 + 6. Kg1 Bxf3 + 7. KF1Fxd1 8. Qc4 + Kh8 9. D4! block the bishop on b6, and can not enter the f2 pawn. If you try to capture the pawn f2 before capturing the pawn f3, 6. . . BH3 + 7. Kh1 Bxf2 8. QF1 Bxf1 9. Rxf1 Re2 10. Rb2 Rh6 11. D4! Tour attack on h6 and the Tower on E2, and there is no way Black can maintain its advantage.
